Witchy Woman

I was going to be a scarecrow again because last year I was out of town for Halloween and none of my local pals saw it in person but I was sorting through some boxes and found my old witches cape so... I put together a witch costume and made an appearance at my friend's shindig last night. Good times.

I've had that witch cape forever. Let's see I've had it (err math in the morning) at least 20 years. I was a witch in my junior year of high school. I actually found a picture. Looking at this picture is when I know having weight loss surgery was the BEST GIFT I ever gave myself. Most people look at pictures from high school or college years longingly wishing they could have that body back. Well I'll just let the picture speak for itself...

That hat is FABULOUS.

Wow...I don't think I have any clothing that I've hung onto that long. I do have earrings that have made it into multiple decades, though. ;)

You look great!

You look FABULOUS!!! You are so my hero. Throughout my pre-op and now throughout my post op I check into your blog everyday. I am going to the Tom's Farm event next weekend and I really hope I get to meet you!

I am SO digging the witch hat! I had to work last night which means no costume (I don't think patients would appreciate an EMT dressed as the Grim Reaper...lol). Hope your evening was Spooktacular!

Amen, sweetie, AMEN! One of my former coworkers posted an old (pre-surgery) picture of me on Facebook...yikes! My daughter saw it and said "you look like you were always mad."

Love the costume and the blog. I'm about 3 months out from my surgery so I'm learning a lot!

Shelly - I wish your spell worked! Think how much money BCBS and I would have saved. Oh, well, I would never believe you were really a witch. Nevertheless, you play a pretty glamorous one on the internet. Love the feathers!

Love it!! You look awesome!!!

I actually have a 20's "flapper" dress my grandma made for me for my 5th grade play. The year was 1976, so we did a play about the history of America. It is made of very NON-stretchy material. I unearthed it while looking for some other stuff in the basement. Just for shits & giggles I tried it on - It was actually BIG on me!!!I think I might throw it on tonite to scare the trick-or-treaters :-).

It is just so weird to realize how big I was even way back then. I still get a little weirded out when people don't recognize me. I mean I see myself every day, and while I know I look different, I don't think I look THAT different. I guess I do!!
