Shelly's Banana Walnut Oatmeal
1 cup Oatmeal (McCann's Quick Cook Irish Oatmeal)
2 1/3 cups Water
Pinch of Salt
1 Banana, mashed
1 Tablespoon Sugar Free Torani Syrup (I used SF Caramel)
1/4 cup Walnuts, chopped
1/3 cup Milk (I use Vanilla Soy Milk)
1/2 teaspoon Butter
Combine the oatmeal, water and salt in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. Mash banana with syrup and add walnuts. Add the mashed banana mixture and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Highlights of the Day:
* After 2 days of cooking for others (lots of fun and I learned soooo much) I'm looking forward to experimenting a bit in my own kitchen today and I have a little crafty project I'm working on. If the weather cooperates and warms up a bit I'd also like to spend a little time outside getting dirty... chillin' with the gnomies. Uh oh... scary... sounds like demon Martha might be trying to take me over. Time to break out the holy water.
* My old neighbor Erica emailed me. I miss you guys!!! Can't wait to catch up. You have mail :)
* Who else is Twittering? Add me. Warning: it's addictive.

Hi Shelly,
I love your blog and your recipes are amazing!!! Quick question you have probably done this before but when you have time would you mind posting what a typical days menu would look like for you? I would appreciate it and thank you for all the great posts!
Crissy
Thanks Crissy,
If you are a ObesityHelp.com member I usually post what I eat each day on Eating Good in the Neighborhood a thread that gets posted on the main board at about 5 pm eastern each day.
Typically:
Breakfast: a couple of Protein Muffins or Oatmeal or Scrambled Egg or Cottage Cheese and Fruit
Lunch: Salad w/ Protein, Bites (crustless quiches), leftovers, Tortilla Pizza
Dinner: Casseroles, Meat & Veggie, Tortilla Pizza, Stir Fry, Bites
Snack: Roasted Edamame, Nuts, Cheesestick, Fruit, Protein Shake/Ice Cream, Protein Muffins/Donut, Veggies & Greek Yogurt Dip, one of my Desserts like Crumbs or Puddings.
On a day I have a carby breakfast like Oatmeal I will limit my carbs the rest of the day so no Tortilla Pizza for example.
I do three meals and a snack sometimes 2 snacks but protein focused. NO CRAP.
I *try* and stick to 50% Protein, 25% Fats, 25% Complex Only Carbs daily.
Hope this helps ;)
~Michelle

Hey Shelly..
One question - I was gathering ingredients at the store for a couple of protein ice cream recipes...
where in the world did you find lemon-lime kool-aid??? I looked all over southern OC today! =0) My next bet is to order it online...
