One of today's flavors...

Shelly's Hawaiian Islands Protein Ice Cream

1 cup Vanilla Soy Milk (or Regular Milk)
2 scoops Vanilla Protein Powder
1/4 cup Crushed Pineapple, drained
1/8 cup Macadamia nuts, chopped
1/8 cup Unsweetened Coconut, toasted

Mix together milk, protein & pineapple. I used this gadget to mix it up. It makes it airy and lump free. Pour into ice cream maker. Follow your machine's instructions for freezing. 5 minutes before done add the chopped nuts and coconut. You can eat it right away it is soft serve-ish but I like to put it in the freezer to set for an hour. Top with an optional drizzle of SF Caramel Sauce (I used Smucker's) and some crushed macadamia nuts.

I'm a fresh post-op but will make your ice cream in the future. My favorite flavor is Ben and Jerry's Oatmeal Cookie. It is a sweet carmel/cinnamon ice cream with little bits of oatmeal cookie. I will hunt for a protein bar that could be added! Love your blog - don't ever stop! And publish a cookbook!!!

OMG OK that was MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Ice Cream pre-op. I'm so on it. Look for it within a few days ;)

I just made a Cinnamon Ice Cream for today's holiday dessert I will post this evening so a few tweaks and we will have our fav back!

Ask your Nut/Dr but I think your plain protein shake thrown thru the ice cream maker (without the goody additions/toppings) would be fine very early on.
