Sad

Sorry I am MIA. My beautiful kitty Rose died last night. Almost 21 years ago my Dad found a little gray runt kitten abandoned and weak in our backyard and we brought her inside and hand fed her till she was strong. She was the best cat ever and a part of my life for over 20 years. I will miss her terribly.

So yeah getting upset brought on a killer migraine and I have spent the day in the fetal position in the dark. I will be back posting tomorrow. I need to cook... it's therapeutic.

On a happier note it's my 2 1/2 year RNY Surgiversary today. -158 pounds and holding. Best GIFT I ever gave myself.

Delurking to say how sorry I am for your loss. I've always thought Rose looked like a cat of mine that died last year about this time, so I know what you must be going through. My thoughts are with you. Thanks for letting us know and for all you do for us.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We're a family of cat lovers here. Our 15 year old cat Lobo passed earlier this year. About a month later, we went to the local shelter and were chosen by an adorable baby kitten to take him home and adopt him, and he's turned out to be a tremendous joy and a big love. We still miss Lobo, but we think Lobo had a hand in bringing us to this new little kitten.
I hope your migraine passes soon. (((HUGS))) - Martha001

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Pets are such an important part of our lives. The cover story in our newspaper today was a shelter in our area that is open today for kitten adoptions. My thoughts are with you...and all you do for others.

I lost my best friend September 2, 2008. Her name was Chyna, she was the best dog I've ever known.

It sucks. I wish you the best in learning to remember the good times and how lucky she was to have such a great life with you (and your family).

Aw, Shelly, I am so sorry about your kitty. I remember how heartbroken I was when my Buck the Wonder Dog passed. How lucky you were to have her for 20 years, most people don't get that. Hugs to you, lovey.

Michelle,

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your longtime friend and companion.
Just this side of heaven lies the Rainbow Bridge...

When a beloved pets dies, it goes to the Rainbow Bridge. It makes friends with other animals
and frolics over rolling hills and peaceful lush meadows of green.

Our pets do not thirst or hunger. The old and sick are made young once more; the maimed and
the ill become healed and strong. They are as healthy and playful as we remember them in days
gone by.

Though happy and content, they miss someone very special, someone they had to leave behind.

Together, the animals chase and play, but the day comes when a pet will suddenly stop and look
into the distance...bright eyes intent, eager body quivering. Suddenly recognizing you, your pet
bounds quickly across green fields and into your embrace. You celebrate in joyous reunion. You will never separate again. Happy tears and kisses are warm and plenty; your hands caress the face you missed. You look once more into the loving eyes of your pet and know you never really parted.

You realize that, though out of sight, your love has been remembered.

And now you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.
My thoughts are with you.

Sending a big hug and a zillion angels to hold your hand while you grieve for your precious Rose. She was beautiful. Losing a fur baby is never easy. I am glad someone posted the Rainbow Bridge. That has always helped me when I had to let my babies go.
Take care,
Kristi

Shelly I am so sorry, especially at this time of the year. Although we had to put my dog to sleep when I was 17 years old (he had cancer and was in tremendous pain) I can still remember today, how I felt that first day I came home from school and looked for him. There is nothing like the relationship with a devoted pet, who is really your family.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I completely relate as we lost 2 fuzzy family members this year. As hard as it is right now, it does get better and your beloved Rosie had a long, wonderful life. She was loved and I'm sure she knew it. Take care and God Bless.

My heart hurts for you. I know how much Rose meant to you. The ONLY thing that truly SUCKS about having pets, is losing them.

I pray for life to get easier for you and your mum.

Another comment from the lurking woodwork...sorry to hear about Rose, a few days ago you'd mentioned she was lovey-dovey (they seem to know what's coming sometimes and choose to make a memory or two with you before they leave). I hope Rose sends a replacement for you to love, it's not much good having love to give without a pet to receive it - the most generous fur friends send along another to keep the empty spot filled and warm; be open to it.

So sorry about your loss. I have a 15 year old Llahsa Apso/Poodle Mix who has Congestive Heart Failure and I thought for sure last week I was going to have to put her down. She was so sick and having trouble breathing but is better now. I know how much you are hurting!!

I'm so sorry about your loss. Our cats become our babies and to lose one is so sad. My Bart cat is 15 and I know the day will come for him to leave. In the meantime, I am giving him lots of belly rubs (his favourite).
Take care.

I haven't been here in awhile with all the craziness of the holidays and being in the ER with my after surgery 5+ problems! Another story! I came on here to get a recipe. You are awesome with them. I'm totally addicted to your 5 min cake!! Anyway, I just saw the post about your cat! I had a Siamese for 22 years and just 1 1/2 months ago I had to put my beloved dog, Taffy down. I have her in my room now and yea, I talk to her. I still get pretty emotional when I see a picture or anything to do with her. She was a blessing to me. We both went through our health things together! We did rescue a puppy about 3 weeks ago now. Her, her siblings and some other dogs were due to be put down so we got her quick! I never wanted a puppy again but here I am. I so know what you are going through. Hugs sent your way! Thanks for all you do (info, recipes, etc)!! Take care of yourself!
