My Mum despite her British heritage (tea drinkers) loves coffee. So for Mother's Day I made her this super yummy coffee flavored dessert. Soooo good. If you love coffee you need to make this. We ate our dessert as we watched the finale of our favorite show "The Amazing Race." She said this was her best Mother's Day ever :)
Shelly's Caramel Macchiato Custard
2 Tablespoons of Bird's Custard Powder
2 cups Milk
2 Tablespoons Sugar Free Caramel Torani Syrup
1 teaspoon Instant Coffee, dry (Starbuck's Via Instant Coffee Tubes are what I used)
Mix powder into a smooth paste with a little of the milk. Heat the remaining milk and instant coffee granules to almost boiling and pour onto the custard mixture. Return the mix to the pan. Stir and heat till thickened (it will bubble). Remove from heat and mix Sugar Free Syrup in. Pour mixture into 4/4-oz ramekins or custard cups. Here's what I use.
Chill for at least 2 hours in fridge. Top chilled custards with Sugar Free Land o Lakes Whipped Cream and a drizzle of Sugar Free Smucker's Caramel Topping.
