Shelley,

I'm 8 weeks out of surgery (VSG) and just want to thank you for this blog. After a rough start with complications and difficulty adjusting, your work here is truly inspirational and encouraging. Thank you for showing me that eating can still be fun and exciting, not a source of pain and frustration. I'm really excited to work through your site and find what works for me and my family.

Thank you Shelley for all your helpful posts. My revision from band to bypass is this Tuesday. I love your tips and advice. I love how you are able to modify meals to work for WLS. Like Linda commented above - I hope to feel that eating will be fun and exciting and not frustrating.

I love that you love to cook and still enjoy food-only mindfully!I'm down 70# in six months and am adjusting to no longer being a plus size. You have been a great help to me- I channel your food adventurism!!!! Thank you, thank you

Hi. I was wondering if you could suggest a good protein powder that's good for our bellys. Im almost 2 years post op from the gastric sleeve.

Hey Jada, All of the ones I use on the blog in recipes are perfect choices for post weight loss surgery patients... you always want to keep calories, sugars and carbs low and protein high. Whey isolates are my first choice, whey concentrates or combos next. Then I go by taste... and that is a really individual thing but if you see me use them those are tasty in my book :) look for companies that offer travel or single serve size packets so you can try at a smaller prize point before committing to a big bag or tub.
