I was at a local store (Baron's Marketplace for my local pals) yesterday where they were sampling this. "Oooh coffee" I said out loud and the sample lady quickly corrected me... "it's not coffee it's herbal coffee."
What the heck is herbal coffee?!
According to the brochure it's "a delicious blend of herbs, grains, fruits and nuts that are roasted and ground to brew and taste just like coffee. Just like there is no milk in soy milk, no tea in herbal tea, there's no coffee in herbal coffee."
I wanted to share the find with you guys because I know some post weight loss surgery are told no caffeine or worse no coffee at all from your nutritionists and/or bariatric surgeons. This would be a great alternative. Besides being caffeine free, it's free of acidity, gluten, and sugar. So for those of your denied caffeine or coffee and jonesing for your morning cup o' Joe I'd print out the info and share it with your medical posse to see if you get the green light.
The product comes in ground form for use in regular coffee pots and these super convenient "Tee-bags." You make it like tea... boiling water (I just used hot water from my Keurig
Mediterranean flavors: Almond Amaretto, Vanilla Nut, Hazelnut, Java, Original, Mocha, and Chocolate Mint.
Maya flavors: Caffé / French Roast, Chocolaté (my favorite so far), and Chai.
Boutique flavors: French Vanilla, Pumpkin Spice, Caramel Nut, Chocolate Raspberry, and Southern Pecan.

Thanks for posting this!! I would love something new to try for my coffee fix. I can drink decaf but it's getting boring. I just found a store down the street that carries it too!
Is it anything like Postum which became extinct about 3 years ago.
Hopefully you'll say it's better.
Yum!! As a fellow coffee addict I look forward to trying this! Thanks for the great find!
Hope you guys enjoy it. I'm forever a coffee girl but for those that can't/are forbidden java post weight loss surgery I think this would be perfect.
Loved the Chocolate one.
Sorry never tried Postum but this is very tasty. Give it a try.
Just ordered by "teebag" sampler pack!!! Can't wait to try it! Thanks for the heads up on this one!
Thanks for posting this! I've been "off" caffeine since 2006 due to migraines. I miss tasty coffee! Already ordered the sampler pack :)
everything old is new again...people have been drinking chicory, grains, and herbs to replace coffee for hundreds of years. Especially since coffee is expensive and has to be imported, and often can't be during wartime.
They sound delicious. I am having my WLS in a few weeks and am trying to find an alternative once I am able to drink things like that but looks like I may be able to drink it shortly after surgery. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks and they have it at my local store Wegman's! Are you familiar with them being from the East Coast? It sounds like a great alternative for my evening cup less the caffeine.
Thanks!!
Ann :-)

The hazelnut flavor is delish. I have the pumpkin, I think I need to break that out soon.
