If you have whippersnappers you have to make these with them. I love making 5 minute cakes with kids because they just think it's magic and that I'm super cool and being cool in the eyes of a child is the BEST kind of cool.
Shelly's Pretty in Pink Strawberry 5 Minute Cake
1 Egg, beaten
3 Tablespoons Milk
2 Tablespoons Sugar Free Vanilla Torani Syrup
2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
3 Tablespoons Multigrain Pancake Mix (I use this)
1 teaspoon Sugar Free Strawberry Jello Powder, dry
1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
Pinch salt
1 - 2 cup Measuring Cup or Microwave Safe Mug
In a measuring cup or microwave safe mug, Mix egg, milk, syrup and oil and combine thoroughly. In a separate bowl, mix pancake mix, Jello powder, protein powder and salt. Tip dry into wet and stir till combined. Nuke in microwave for 2 minutes (my microwave is getting old and needs 20 seconds added now.) Let it sit for three or so minutes (it pulls away from the sides) before tipping the cake onto a plate. Yields 4-5 slices.

I am soooo tempted to run out and get some Sugar Free Lime Jello because you know I NEED to make a psychedelic green cake. I guess I'll wait till the sun comes up.
***UPDATE***
My total goober status was solidified when I ran out to the store (needing nothing else) just for Sugar Free Lime Jello to make a green version of this morning's 5 minute cake.
But come on... GREEN!

I still have not made one of these cakes but I am dying to....
Do you think the Fiber One pancake mix would work as a sub for the one you use?

Shelly,
From a fellow "goober" - way to go!! I love your enthusiasm for trying new things. I haven't tried the 5 minute cakes yet, but I'm getting more intrigued.
Connie
I have seen you post these recipes before and finally I had to try the cake. Of course I didn't have any of the flavors that you did, but I did have lemon SF jello. I couldn't believe how good it is. I will definately make it again in the different flavors. You go girl!
I can't wait to try these. My 21 year old son is hooked on your Ice Cream recipes now. He loves to make them. THanks.
I've tried all of them and love every single one. Shelly, I really appreciate your talent and sharing with us! And I just got an ice cream maker, so this weekend is protein ice cream city!
Shelly, just want to thank you for the 5 minute cake recipes!
I didnt want to open a whole jello, so I used a sleeve of crystal light and YUMMY - worked great!
I used the maple grove SF pancake mix (found at my local Giant Eagle) and it worked wonderfully for these, the chocolate and bread pudding version I made... can you tell it's been a slow Saturday night? LOL
These cakes are only a smidgen less awesome than you are! Another winning recipe. Love it. :o) Thanks, Karen opheliafl@yahoo.com

On the pizza slideshow... I don't have a legend or anything but they have all been on the blog so if you can sort of describe it I can tell you mosre than likely where to find the original entry.
:) I can stare at that thing for an hour LOL

These cakes are great, I made the strawberry and orange this morning. I was wondering though if you had tried making them in plastic containers rather than glass, I was considering that so that I could have square or rectangle cakes.
Thanks Andrew. Glad you like them. Can't beat dessert in 5 minutes :)
I haven't used other containers but I do slice the cake up and cut them into shapes with cookie cutters. Little cake hearts, stars.

your recipes are AMAZING! even my 4 boys...all picky eaters love everything i've made so far. pizza porn and 5 minute cakes...YUM! THANKS so much for the fantastic recipes.
Can you tell me what the protein, calorie and carb stats are for the jello cakes. It is delicious.
Thanks so much
Judy, I don't put the nutritional info on my recipes because that can vary so widely. I use full fat cheeses (the good stuff) others may use low fat or (horror) non fat, the % fat on beef, differences in packaged products, brands of protein, etc. will change the info dramatically.
I eat full fat (cheese, mayo, butter, olive oil, etc.) Fat = flavor. I eat it in moderation (thanks to my pouch) if I ate Reduced Fat or Fat Free (aka nuclear waste) I wouldn't be satisfied and in an hour I'd be thinking about my next meal. I eat yummy, lip smacking stuff so I never feel like I'm on a diet or suffering in my new life.
What I do when I need to find the nut info on one of mine (or others) is go to a site like fitday.com type in each individual ingredient, this will give you carb, cals, fat, protein gram totals then divide by the # of servings I get from the dish (this will vary too depended on how far out you are.) It's not exact but it's close enough for me.
I want to thank you, Shelly, so much for developing these 5 minute cake recipes... totally awesome!!!
I have not had WLS, but I have been following Suzanne Somers Way of Eating and between her WOE and giving up white flour, sugar, etc., I have lost over 85 pounds in about two years.
I had to make modifications to your base recipes, but the basic recipe gave me a great start.
I have shared your link on the Lefora Somersizing Forum so the other people that follow Somersizing can benefit with your fantasic find.
Thank you so much!
